Accurate Quasi - Static Modeling of Microstrip Lines Over Lossy Substrates
نویسنده
چکیده
A highly accurate, analytic quasi-static model of a microstrip over a semiconductor layer has been developed. The model agrees with full-wave calculations in all three modes of propagation (skin-effect, slow wave, and dielectric quasi-TEM), for both the attenuation constant α and the propagation constant β over a very wide range of dimension, substrate conductivity, and frequency. To achieve this level of agreement, a non-uniform cross-section, transverse resonance technique has been applied to find the series impedance per unit length of the microstrip transmission line.

Analysis of a Microstrip Crossover Embedded in a Multilayered Anisotropic and Lossy Media
AbstructThe equivalent circuit and the scattering parameters of the orthogonal microstrip crossover discontinuity are determined by assuming that the conducting strips are embedded in a multilayered substrate which may contain both anisotropic dielectrics and materials with a nonnegligible conductivity. The equivalent circuit of the crossover is obtained in terms of the complex excess charge de...
متن کاملIntegration of Self-Assembled 3-D RF Passive Components with Thin-Film Microstrip Lines
A fabrication process has been developed which allows the combination of thin film microstrip transmission lines with released metal structures which can then be rotated out-of-plane by surface tension self-assembly. The transmission lines allow low-loss, impedance matched feeds to the lumped element components. The use of self-assembly allows decoupling from lossy substrates, which can greatly...
متن کاملModeling Methodology for On-Chip Coplanar Transmission Lines over the Lossy Silicon Substrate
This paper presents a wideband modeling methodology for on-chip coplanar single and coupled transmission lines over the conductive silicon substrate. Cost effective, semi analytical models have been developed, being purely based on explicit expressions. Silicon substrate induced loss and dispersion effects are considered, as well as the skin and proximity effects, while accounting for thick met...
